Instructor
RYA Qualified Instructor, Glenn is passionate about the sport, having ridden Jetskis for over 20 years. Combining that with over 8 years experience in training, Glenn has developed a unique style putting people at ease whilst creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Glenn enjoys the group social experience and always enjoys the thrill that people experience when they overcome their fears and learn new skills on the water and become competent riders.

Course Overview
The aim of the RYA Jetski (PWC) Proficiency Course is to ensure you are a competent Jetski rider and to teach you how to be safe in your marine environment by teaching you a range of practical handling skills on the water and theory topics on land. Topics such as weather, navigation, tide and collision regulations, to help you start making the right decisions when planning your Jetski trips.
On successful completion of the course you will be issued with your RYA Personal Watercraft Proficiency Certificate which can then be converted to the internationally recognised ICC for use abroad.

Duration: 1 day
(09.15 – 17.00)
Minimum age: 12 (12–17 must be accompanied by an adult

At Jetski Training Torquay we pride ourselves on being the Jetski training specialist. With a team of friendly and experienced Jetski instructors our focus is to give you a fun but educational course in one of the best training spots in the UK. Our aim is for you to leave the course informed and ready to make the most of your time on your new craft. It’s what we’ve been doing for the last 8 years and have no intention of stopping anytime soon.
Do I need a licence to drive a Jet Ski in the UK?
Whilst at this stage some places in the UK do not require a Jetski licence we would always recommend attending some form of RYA Training to build up skill and competence levels.
Through 2021 we noticed an increase in lakes and coastal areas requiring some form of training to have been completed before allowing you to launch your Jetski. Also more Insurance companies are looking for the owner of a new Jetski to have undertaken the RYA PWC proficiency course before offering a new policy.
Even though this is the current status in the UK, Jetski Laws in foreign countries can be much stricter especially throughout the Mediterranean where a lot of places require either an ICC or RYA Proficiency Certificate.
Is there anyway I can hire a Jetski once I’ve completed the Training?
Our popular Jetski Club is a fantastic opportunity to ride a Jetski regularly without the hassle and cost of owning one. No need to worry about the initial outlay, mooring, insurance, servicing and depreciation costs. Once a member, through our advanced booking app, you can access the fleet of well maintained SeaDoo and Yamaha skis, it is as simple as book and go. Visit New Wave Club Torquay for more information.

RYA PWC Course

£300 pp
2 people sharing a Jetski £230 pp
Our course fee includes the Jetski hire fee of one our latest SeaDoo and Yamaha fleet, included in course fee : Jetski hire, wetsuit and safety equipment hire, RYA PWC handbook, fuel and insurance, therefore NO hidden costs.
